Suspiciously enough, Abdul-Mateen's unnamed character seems to have adopted Morpheus' style. Many were surprised when Neo and Trinity were announced for The Matrix 4, but their returns were actually set up well in advance. The character was seemingly killed off in The Matrix Online, but it's unclear if Resurrections will take the events of the 2005 massively multiplayer online role-playing game into account. If you're wondering about Laurence Fishburne's Morpheus being absent from the trailer, Fishburne told New York Magazine last year that he wasn't involved with the movie. Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Ricci, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jonathan Groff are new to the franchise. This in turn allowed her to access the same powers (or at least part of them) that. During the rebuilding of the Matrix, Trinity apparently obtained a portion of Neo’s code, giving her the ability to access the Prime Program herself. This means that Trinity has become one with Neo and that the two form a single, powerful entity. Apart from the logic in the Matrix universe, another reason for reviving Neo and Trinity as characters was definitely to bring back the Matrix. The Analyst realized at one point that Neo’s power was great, but that his true potential in the new Matrix would only be awakened in conjunction with Trinity.

The movie brings back Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson and Daniel Bernhardt from the original trilogy. What are Neo and Trinity in the Matrix Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) is introduced to the reality of the Matrix by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) and Trinity, (Carrie-Anne Moss) and thus a relationship was born between these three, with the friendship between Morpheus and Neo and Neo’s love for Trinity. So, the machines kept Neo and Trinity alive in the orders of the Analyst, who wanted to use the connection between the two as the driving force for his own vision of the current version of the Matrix.
It's directed by Lana Wachowski, but her sister Lilly Wachowski (who co-directed the original trilogy) didn't return because she's taking a break from the movie industry. It continues the cyberpunk story kicked off in the beloved 1999 original (two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, followed in 2003).
